Crisis in the neighborhood: Rohingya Muslims

Rohingya are the Muslim minority community of western Rakhine State of Myanmar. At the beginning of the year, they were numbered around 1.1 million in Myanmar with over 300,000 taking refuge in Bangladesh, India, Thailand, Indonesia & Singapore. Since August 2017, over half million more have fled to nearby countries (predominantly Bangladesh) after army launched “clearing operation” in response to the attacks on paramilitary posts by Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA). OBOR and India

China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is an infrastructure development project planned and funded by China to connect its westernmost city Kashgar in northwestern autonomous province Xinjiang to Pakistan’s port city Gwadar.
